Title:Pension Deutsches Haus - Meran (Südtirol)
Object name:brochure
Created by:Hauger
Production date:(after) 1902 — (before) 08.1923
Description:Advertising brochure for the “Pension Deutsches Haus – Meran (Südtirol)” with a black-and-white image of the establishment on the city’s Winter Promenade, flanked by the initials “M” and “H” (Marie Hampl) on a pale pink background.
Inside are pictures of the main guesthouse and its annex on the Steinachplatz/Piazza Steinach with the prices given in Italian lire and the owners named as the “Geschwister Hampl” (Hampl siblings). This part has been pasted over with a sheet of paper: the original text names Marie Hampl née Petermichl as the owner and the guesthouse prices are given in Austrian crowns.
It can be assumed that the brochure was printed before the First World War and continued to be used into the early 1920s with the sheet stuck onto it until a prohibition was introduced on the public use of the German term “Südtirol”.
