In the background can be seen mountains with a view towards St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo and the Michelsburg/San Michele Castle.

Hist. crit. notes:Bruneck formed the centre of a wide valley basin and was “a little urban location in a rural environment, which was also a hub for supra-regional and valley traffic”, as Hans Heiss puts it.
