Hist. crit. notes:From the very outset, Michael Fliri has worked with the media of performance, video and photography. His work “Der Schneemann” is a representative, early example: the starting point is an action by the artist, who enters an empty art space dressed as a snowman and fills it with “snow” (polystyrene granules) until he himself finally sinks into the snow. In the same way, in our everyday lives we create situations, structure environments and generate meanings into which we flow, like the snowman into the snow. (Marion Piffer Damiani, in “Arbeiten.
