Description:Eight drawings from the series “Den Erfolg verdanke ich meiner Mutter [I owe my success to my mother]”. Mixed media on paper, framed. Handwritten annotation in pencil on the rear. Displayed in the solo exhibition “tra-monti” at the Galerie Museum, Ar/ge Kunst, Bozen/Bolzano, autumn 2008.
Hist. crit. notes:Drawing is the preferred means of expression of graphic designer and artist Martina Drechsel: whether using pen, chalk or pencil, the strongly autobiographical motifs appear in spontaneous and concentrated form on the page. The expressive, lively strokes touch directly on questions of identity and role models, physicality and sexuality, childhood, Eros or love, in a manner that ranges from the humorous to the grotesque.
