Description:Three-dimensional wall object in 24 parts: a relief-like construction made of aluminium strips and printed Forex panels, each 50 x 50 x 5 cm. The ornamental black-and-white motif is a detail from Le Corbusier’s “Tower of Shadows” and refers to architecture and its relationship with nature. The work can be mounted either horizontally or vertically.
Hist. crit. notes:Krüger & Pardeller’s work lies at the interface between architecture, design and visual art. The inspiration for this wall object was Le Corbusier’s “Tower of Shadows”, built in 1965 in the new government district in Chandigarh, India. “WAND 01” was created as a relief-like interlocking system of aluminium strips and printed Forex plates, based on the sculptural quality and striking façade of the building in an interplay of photographic technique and sculptural realisation.
