Description:Graphic no. 187 from a series of around fifteen works entitled “Mountains”: a mountain landscape, signed and dated in pencil at the bottom left on the back: “Lt. 2014 (187)”.
Hist. crit. notes:Letizia Werth draws with graphite, ink and charcoal on canvas, using as models materials collected from boxes of found items or from flea markets to create a world of memory and transience. Her series “Mountains” contains mountain landscapes, rock formations, clouds, trees and forests, but these can only be guessed at because the artist mixes light and shadow in such a way that the enigmatic becomes significant while, conversely, important pictorial information disappears into the shadows.
