Hist. crit. notes:Ivo Rossi Siéf (* 1949) from San Candido/Innichen studied psychology in Innsbruck before moving to Venice to study architecture. He later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna as well as at the University of Applied Arts. Besides his architecture, his artistic activities also extended to collaborations with poets and sculptors. His 1990 project with Elmar Perkmann at the medieval Prösels Castle, and with writer Joseph Zoderer in 1997 and 1998 culminated in illustrated works of literature. His 2004 project with poet, Renate Scrinzi was a combination of prose, poetry, and illustrations. Siéf was also involved in several portraiture commissions, such as those of Alois Pupp and Erich Achmüller. Characterized by a gestural realism, these formal portraits of past presidents are housed at the Provincial Council building.
