Description:Two men playing music and a couple dancing.
Hist. crit. notes:In the upper chamber, two ceramic works by Maria Delago are exhibited. Under the tutorship of renowned sculptors Michael Powolny and Anton Hanak, Delago studied at the Vienna University of Applied Arts. Powolny was renowned for his exquisite, glazed Art Nouveau/Art Deco ceramics, while Hanak was an internationally recognised expressionist painter, sculptor and visionary. Delago’s two works housed in the South Tyrolean Provincial Council building depict a grape harvest and a rural dance scene. Her clay sculptures with intricate glazing create an alluring shimmering effect, each figure maintaining an even hue. Working from her kiln on Via Museo/Museumstrasse street where she also resided, Delago infused her work with whites from her walls.
