Enter an object number or the first part of it plus the wildcard sign *.

Object name

Enter the name of the object, e.g. 'painting' or 'fabric'. Or click the button to choose from a list of object names. You can scroll through this list. If you would like to see all object names starting with the letter "g", for instance, then first type this letter in the current entry field. You can use the wildcard sign *. When searching for an object name, pseudonyms and other forms associated with the term are also searched.

Word(s) from the title, description or hist. crit. notes

Enter one or more words from the title, description or hist. crit. notes that you are searching for. The sequence of the words is irrelevant, the software will search for all of the words. Type a space between the separate words. You can use truncation using the * sign.

Enter the name of the creator of a searched object. Use this form: last name, first name. If you only enter part of the name, work with * as a placeholder. You can use * before or after the name. or click the Click on button to choose from a list of creators. If you would like to see all creators starting with the letter "P", for instance, then first type this letter in the current entry field. When searching for a name, pseudonyms and other forms associated with the name are also searched.

The name must be entered starting with the last name. The first name is optional, but if you use it, it must be separated from the last name by a comma and a space.

Collection

Enter a the name of a collection or the first part of it (with wildcard *). Or click the button to choose from a list of collections.

Institution

Choose an institution from the list.

Date

Fill in the year of publication. If you type '1980' in the from field, you will find all the publications from that year and newer. Fill in '1980' in the from field, and '1985' in the to field, and you will find all the publications that are published between and including the years 1980-1985. Using YYYY-MM-DD you can search for specific dates.

Subject (theme, keyword, person, organization)

Enter search terms for the content: keywords that have been assigned as topics or keywords, or names of people or organizations. You can enter several words, the order does not matter. The words are separated by a space. You can also use * as a wildcard in the search.

Content: location

Enter a location or the first part of it (with wildcard *). Or click the button to choose from a list of locations.

Inscription

Use this free text search to search words in the inscriptions on the objects.

Material

Enter the name of a material from which the searched object is made, e.g. 'gold' or 'wood', or only the first letters of it (with wildcard *), or click the button to choose from a list of available materials. Sub-terms and other related terms are taken into account

Technique

Enter the name of the technique with which the searched object was made, e.g. 'painted' or 'cast'. You can use the wildcard sign *, or click the button to choose from a list of techniques. Sub-terms and other related terms are taken into account.
