Description:Modell des ausrangierten Günther-Messner-Hochferner-Biwaks im Maßstab 1:20 aus Stahlblech mit architektonischer Ergänzung „Himmelfahrt“ in Baustahl. Die Arbeit war Teil des Kunstprojekts „Bivacco“ anlässlich der 58. Kunstbiennale 2019 auf der Insel San Servolo in Venedig, bei dem Werke von sieben Südtiroler Kunstschaffenden ausgestellt wurden: Jacopo Candotti, Nicolò Degiorgis, Hannes Egger, Julia Frank, Simon Perathoner, Leander Schönweger, Maria Walcher.
Hist. crit. notes:In his works Schönweger often creates irritating and surreal situations by minimal changes to a familiar environment. The model of the bivouac transformed into a church or a mountain chapel cannot be classified or explained at the first glance. But both hypotheses are based on the idea of protection and acceptance. With this work the artist opens up a visionary view of the bivouac and allows for different interpretations and questions. (In: Bivacco, catalogue to the exhibition, 2019)
